ObjectRocket for MongoDB 3.2 Now Available

We’re excited to announce that MongoDB 3.2 is now generally available on ObjectRocket and ready for you to deploy today! We’ve been hard at work testing and validating the latest major release, and after a lot of careful tracking of the community patches and stability improvements, we are ready to put our full endorsement behind MongoDB’s latest and greatest.

What new features are in MongoDB 3.2?

Some of the top highlights for new capabilities in MongoDB 3.2 include:

For a more complete list and detailed descriptions of the new features, see the MongoDB 3.2 Release Notes.

Also, with MongoDB 3.2 WiredTiger, we default to a 1:5 RAM-to-Storage ratio, and we now offer 5GB WiredTiger Sharded and 5GB WiredTiger Replica Set as the smallest WiredTiger instances available (previously 20GB was the minimum WiredTiger size). This means it’s easier than ever to get started with WiredTiger, and you get more resources by default!

Which data centers are supporting it?

MongoDB 3.2 Sharded is available for deployment in all of our data centers, including Northern Virginia / US-East (IAD), US-Dallas (DFW), US-Chicago (ORD), San Jose / US-West (SJC), EU-London (LON), AP-Hong Kong (HKG), and AP-Sydney (SYD).

MongoDB 3.2 Replica Set is available for deployment in Northern Virginia / US-East (IAD) only. We will be rolling out additional data centers for Replica Sets very shortly, so stay tuned!

Which storage engines are supported?

We support MMAP and WiredTiger storage engines for both our Sharded and our Replica Set offerings.
