ObjectRocket

Elasticsearch New Features – Kibana, Elasticsearch 2.0, and ACL Sync

Since we launched our ObjectRocket Elasticsearch service this past July, we have been hard at work in the garage, wrenching on some new features to add chrome to our Elasticsearch rocket. We are pleased to announce the following new features:

Kibana

We now include hosting for Kibana with every ObjectRocket Elasticsearch cluster. Kibana will help you plot a faster course through your data, allowing you to easily build dashboards with charts and graphs to help you navigate through the astronomical amounts of information you are storing with ObjectRocket.

Like Elasticsearch, our Kibana service includes layers of security with SSL endpoints, an integrated firewall and authenticated users. Our Kibana service also features 24/7 monitoring backed by our industry leading SLAs.

Elasticsearch 2.0.0

The release of version 2.0.0 of Elasticsearch represents a major milestone, with the addition of new features such as pipeline aggregations, a simplified query DSL, and hardened security. So that you can take advantage of these improvements right away, we are including support for Elasticsearch 2.0.0 in our Early Access program.

A full list of changes in Elasticsearch 2.0.0 can be found in the release notes. If you have an existing Elasticsearch cluster, we are here to help you navigate the list of breaking changes in this release and how they impact you.

ACL Sync

Finally, we have added support for our ACL Sync feature for our ObjectRocket Elasticsearch instances. By enabling ACL Sync on your Elasticsearch cluster, you can automatically allow access from your servers hosted in either Rackspace Cloud or Amazon Web Services. We do all the hard work for you, adding and removing access to your Elasticsearch data automatically as your cloud environment changes over time. Just provide your Amazon Web Services or Rackspace Cloud credentials in the External Integration section of the ObjectRocket Dashboard, browse to your Elasticsearch cluster, and click the ACL Sync button.
